Sue Egan, Executive Director
Documentation & Coding

segan@byrnehealthcare.com

With over fifteen years in the cardiovascular service line, Sue is extremely knowledgeable in documentation and coding for cardiovascular and peripheral vascular work for both physicians and hospitals.

When working with clients, she first assesses the current practices, then audits a selected case mix. Once the initial audit is complete Sue meets with the hospital’s specialists to outline discovered opportunities, identifies the physicians that require documentation and education, and provides specific education to each required physician. She then quantifies the impact of her work by comparing the reimbursements and acuity rate prior to her education and post.

Sue entered the healthcare field working at Medicare for five years where her ultimate responsibility was educating physicians on billing for Medicare services. She then worked for over ten years for Medcath, where she was a consultant for the hospital partners as well as outside cardiologists and surgeons. Sue joined the Byrne Healthcare family in 2007.
